UGC for SMEs and small businesses, without a marketing team.

A lot of UGC advice for small businesses says: collect content from your customers. That needs a community and someone to run it. UGC Pocket takes the other route: our team builds the campaign and writes the video scripts, following the codes of the formats that work in your sector, then selects the creators, who post the videos on their own TikTok and Instagram accounts.

From €2,000 per campaign, no subscription, price and terms set out in the commercial proposal

The basics

What UGC can (and can't) do for a small business

UGC, or user-generated content, means videos made by real people rather than by the brand. It helps a small business get seen and trusted without a production budget or an audience of its own.

In the EU, an SME has fewer than 250 staff and a turnover of up to €50 million (or a balance sheet of up to €43 million); a micro enterprise has fewer than 10 staff and a turnover or balance sheet of up to €2 million. This page is for both.

Two routes: collect it from customers, or commission it from creators

Collected UGCCommissioned creator UGC
Who filmsYour customers, sometimes your staffCreators briefed for the campaign
Where it is postedCustomers' accounts, then reposted by youThe creators' own TikTok and Instagram accounts
What it needs from youA community, a hashtag or a contest, someone to ask permissionA brief, access to the product, a budget
Main limitSlow and unpredictable when few customers postPaid, so the videos must be disclosed as advertising

Why the first route is hard without a content team

Small-business guides often recommend the same tactics: a branded hashtag, contests and giveaways, asking customers directly for content (some brands tie this to a referral program), and getting written permission before reposting. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce guide to user-generated content lists these four, among other ideas.

Each tactic assumes customers who already post about you, and someone with time to run the hashtag, collect permissions and republish. With few followers, a contest reaches few people. The second route moves both the work and the audience outside the company: creators post on their own accounts, so distribution does not depend on your reach.

Use cases

Which small businesses it fits

UGC Pocket is built first for products that have to be shown and explained in a short vertical video: software, apps, services and training.

Professional services & business tools

Accounting, HR, invoicing or booking tools: a creator shows the task before and after. If you sell to other companies, see our page on UGC for business products.

Apps & software

A screen recording with a voice-over, one feature shown from start to finish. More formats on the tech UGC page.

Courses, coaching & training

A creator explains what they learned and how they apply it, without promising income or results.

Consumer products

Food, cosmetics, home: the creator worlds below have their own pages. A product to unbox on camera? Read the limits below.

Your side

What you don't have to do

  • Write the scripts. Our team builds the campaign and writes the video scripts, following the codes of the formats that work in your sector.
  • Find and vet creators. Our team selects them, and each brand accepts or refuses the requests to join its challenges.
  • Post on your own account. Creators publish on the TikTok and Instagram accounts they declared in the app. You don't need an audience to start.
  • Chase links. Creators paste each video's link in the app, and views are read from the post's public statistics.
  • Review every video yourself. Our team reviews each one, and you can ask for changes through us.
  • Pay creators one by one. Your contract is with UGC Pocket. Each challenge shows its pay conditions before creators start; their pay depends on the views of the videos published on their declared accounts, beyond a cumulative view threshold.
Your brief

What we need from you

  1. A one-sentence description: who the product is for and the problem it solves.
  2. Access to the product: a demo account with realistic data, a test login or a sample of the service. Creators cannot film an empty screen.
  3. Two or three points the video must get across, and the claims it must not make (prices, results, comparisons).
  4. Where viewers should go next: your website, app store page or booking page.
  5. What is off-limits: competitors, sensitive topics, visual rules.

Budget

Budget: from €2,000 per campaign, no subscription

The public price of UGC Pocket is: from €2,000 per campaign, no subscription, price and terms set out in the commercial proposal. Nothing is billed by an AI agent or before acceptance.

Check one point before comparing offers: can you reuse the videos in ads or on your website? At UGC Pocket, that reuse is defined in the commercial proposal; elsewhere, usage rights are often a separate line. See usage rights and whitelisting.

Paid videos are disclosed as advertising

A creator paid to talk about your product must say so. In France, article 5-2 of law no. 2023-451 requires the commercial intent to be made clear, for example with the words “publicité” (advertising) or “collaboration commerciale” (commercial collaboration). In the United States, the FTC tells creators to disclose any financial relationship with a brand.

How it works

A first campaign in 4 steps.

Brief

You describe what you sell in a few lines. Our team builds the campaign and writes the video scripts, following the codes of the formats that work in your sector.

2

Acceptance

You receive a commercial proposal. Nothing is billed before acceptance.

3

Publishing

Our team selects the creators. They post the videos on their own TikTok and Instagram accounts, so you don't need an audience, and paste the links in the app.

4

Review by our team

Our team reviews every video, and you can ask for changes through us. Views are read from each post's public statistics.

Working with an AI agent? It can prepare a draft campaign through our MCP server, which you then confirm. See UGC Pocket for AI agents.

Honest limits

When UGC Pocket isn't the right choice

  • You want to test with a few videos. A platform with a small monthly plan or per-video pricing fits better. Influee, for example, lists a Starter plan at $229 a month for up to 10 creator collaborations, with no commitment; creator payments and a 10% marketplace fee come on top. It puts the average 30-second UGC video in the USA at $57. See our Influee alternative page.
  • You mainly need raw files for your own ads, fast. Our campaigns are built around videos published on creators' accounts; a production-focused platform fits better.
  • Your product has to be unboxed on camera. Our core is software, apps, services and training; e-commerce platforms have better-suited creator pools.
  • Your budget is under €2,000. Start with a small plan on a platform like the one above, or with the customer-collection route described earlier on this page.

Posting on the creator's own account is not unique to UGC Pocket: Billo advertises “organic posting” on creator profiles, and Insense offers an “Influencer Post” campaign type on Meta and TikTok. See our 2026 comparison of UGC platforms.

Small business FAQ

Questions small businesses ask about UGC.

Is UGC worth it for a small business?

It can be, if a stranger can understand your offer in under a minute of video. It is a weaker fit when the value depends on a long relationship or months of use. Nobody can promise a number of views.

How much does UGC cost for an SME?

At UGC Pocket: from €2,000 per campaign, no subscription, price and terms set out in the commercial proposal. Nothing is billed by an AI agent or before acceptance.

Do we need our own audience, or to post the videos ourselves?

No. Creators post on their own TikTok and Instagram accounts, declared in the app. Your own account stays as it is.

Do the creators need lots of followers?

No. There is no follower minimum to join UGC Pocket, and our team selects the creators for each campaign. TikTok wrote in June 2020 that neither follower count nor an account's previous high-performing videos are direct factors in its recommendation system (checked 30 September 2026). That is no guarantee of views.

What do we need to provide?

A short description, access to the product, two or three key points and the claims to avoid. Our team turns that into the campaign and the scripts.

Can we reuse the videos in ads or on our website?

Reuse of the videos in advertising or on your site is defined in the commercial proposal. Ask about it before you accept.
